(Beaver Dam) Bob

Gone Home to be with Jesus

Thank you for being our pastor, our friend, our shoulder to lean on. Thank you most of all for being a good and faithful servant to our Lord, Jesus Christ !

For nine years, four months and twenty-two days Bob Compton shepherd over his little flock at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Some called him “Reverend”, some called him “Pastor” and some just called him “Preacher”, but everyone called him friend. Once you met him, he was your friend for life.

He had compassion for everyone, church member and non-church member alike and never missed an opportunity to share his love for Jesus Christ with everyone he met.

During his time at Beaver Dam, Rev. Compton baptized 131 of our brothers and sisters in Christ, performed numerous weddings and presided over countless numbers of funerals in the community. He visited the sick and shut-ins in their homes, nursing homes and hospitals. He was there for every birth, every death, every operation and procedure.

Rev. Compton had a deep affection for all people, young and old. He adored little children and loved it when they came running to hug him around his legs.

He had a passion for evangelism and missions encouraging us to set goals and greatly increasing our missions giving.

Bob and Phyllis Compton were more than our pastor and his wife; they were part of our family, celebrating with us in our victories and grieving with us in our sorrows.

Rev. Bob Compton has left a void in our lives that cannot be filled, but we know that great are his rewards in heaven and many are the stars in his crown.

Our purpose is to bring glory to God in this community and throughout the world by living out the "Great Commission" found in Matthew 28:19-20.

To Go

To Teach

To Baptize

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.' Amen."
